General FAQ

What is my skin type?

We can't diagnose your skin type here over text, but there are *usually* a few key signs that tell you what your skin type is! Check the following first:

  • Dry Skin: Rough, peels easily
  • Balanced Skin: Not too dry, not too oily
  • Oily Skin: Heightened sebum (face oil) production
  • Combination Skin: Dry and balanced in some areas, but oily in others.

What’s my skin sensitivity?

We define "sensitive" as experiencing stinging, irritation, burning, redness, or tightness when using skincare products.

  • Never: You've tried several different brands, types of products and never experience the above symptoms.
  • Rarely: You only experience the above symptoms when trying extremely active formulations.
  • Often: You've experienced the above symptoms when trying multiple brands, formulas, ingredients across the skincare spectrum. You likely opt for "sensitive" formulas or products with fewer, gentler ingredients.
  • All the time: You exclusively use products made for sensitive skin—anything else results in the above symptoms.

What products do you offer?

Right now, Sel:pH is excited to offer a first of its kind serum + moisturizer hybrid alongside three super concentrates. We've also created two SPFs with low- to no- white cast. But we may have a few more exciting things up our sleeves...check back in the coming weeks for more!

How do I know skincare is working?

When incorporating new products into your skin care routine, it takes an average 4–6 weeks for your skin to fully adjust to the new ingredients + begin to see results. It's not about slathering the most expensive products or having many ingredients on your skin—it's about finding the right balance of products for your skin type + concerns.

Do you test on animals?

Never! Our products are 100% cruelty-free.

Do Sel:pH products contain parabens or sulfates? Are the products gluten-free?

As a company, we are committed to creating products that use only safe, natural ingredients, wherever possible, and are continuously seeking new and environmentally-friendly ingredients. All of our products are free of sulfates, parabens, mineral oils, phthalates, and gluten, among many other ingredients.
